Do anyone know what's the blue thing in the Lucrehulk under the Venator? Is it a shield effect or something like that?

I'm pretty sure it's a shield flare but I could be wrong.

Lucrehulks, and most large ships (not sure what the minimum size is) are so massive a single shield generator cannot adequately protect the entire ship. Because of this they engineer multiple shield generators into the super structure to better cover all areas. Because of this, with concentrated firepower you can pierce a specific area of the ship's shield, without actually knocking out all of its shield. This is because you can put so much strain on that single region its generator is destroyed/knocked offline, without the entire grid failing.

Anyways, what you see is a specific section of the Lucrehulks shields being hit, and flaring up.

It would be cool if that could be incorporated into a game, but I doubt it would happen with EAW's engine.

Its not something you could easily add. I know the Sins of a Solar Empire engine (which is all space combat, and much much newer) cant support that. Its the same basic Hull & Shields FoC uses. Even older space sims like Homeworld 2 dont have that feature. Its the sort of thing I'd expect in EVE, not an RTS.
